About
the inventor & Co-founder
Kim was founder and bandleader for the Wildwood Girls, an all-girl bluegrass
and country band formed in 1979. The Wildwood Girls toured for 8 years
for the USO and Department of Defense programs and were the house bluegrass
band at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN for 5 years. In addition, the Wildwood
girls worked ten years for Bill Monroe, the father of bluegrass music,
at his bluegrass festivals. Kim retired the band in 1999 and went back
to school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. After graduating,
she moved to Eastern North Carolina to work for a local company. Kim presently
teaches banjo 2-3 nights a week and plays 5-string banjo in a classical/bluegrass
duet called Chambergrass.
Chad
Co-Founder & President.
Like Co-Founder Kim, Chad is a musician and has a passion for eclectic
music and the challenges those musicians face. Currently Chad plays traditional
Irish music after spending most of his musical life in the classical tradition.
Chad’s career background is in sales, marketing, and entrepreneurship,
this being the third start-up venture he has spearheaded. After becoming
good friends with Kim and familiar with her innovative idea, The No-Strap™,
Chad had one thought, “I can sell the fire out of that thing!”
